Queerpoetry.com Chad Helder teaches English at Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, Washington where he lives with his partner, Tshombe Brown. Chad also works for Village Books, a large independent bookstore. Tshombe and Chad host a monthly gay men's fiction book club at Village Books. Chad started writing poetry in 1994 at the University of Northern Colorado and continued to study and write poetry at Western Washington University; he launched Queerpoetry.com in 2004 to feature his collection of poems and explore the potential of the online realm as a vessel for poetic expression. In 2005, Chad announced plans to launch a new online queerzine (now accepting submissions). The long-term vision of Queerpoetry.com is to build a readership publish innovative poetry books. Trade, is a magazine with the heart of a zine and an open-minded concept of what it means to be queer (not just a sexual preference, but a way of life, perhaps even a political ethic). It's an exciting, fun, mind-expanding frolic through "all that falls under that great big happy spectrum of queer." Despite the obvious male slant of the little mag, the editor seem to be conscious to give female movers and shakers the spotlight as much as possible. writing is highly inspired.
